BMJ, 9 February 2002 ( If you are not able to access this link, quite probably you are accessing it late, and it may have been removed from the BMJ site. The reference to our journal site (Internet Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology) can however be seen in the print issue of the "British Medical Journal" Volume 324, 9 February, 2002, at page 372 - in the column "NETLINES')
ORL FRANCE: LE PORTAIL DES PROFESSIONNELS DE L'ORL (This French site links our review of the book Encephalo-Peripheral Nervous System: Vascularisation - Anatomy - Imaging by André Leblanc, appearing in Volume 2, Number 2, July-December 2001)
Firearms
Period Firearms ( One of the best sites on firearms that I know of. Early firearms such as Hand Gonne, The Flash Pan, Matchlock, Wheel Lock, Snaphaunce, Flintlock and Percussion Cap are all shown. What is interesting is that their mechanisms are shown by animation. The mechanism is usually not comprehensible through text or still pictures. The only effective way to understand the mechanism is through animation, and the site does just that. Highly recommended to all firearm lovers - Forensic or Non forensic)
How Flintlock Guns Work ( Another excellent site on firearms. The section on "how Flintlock Guns work" is excellent. There are three mpeg movies too, which explain the action very nicely)
